1. Booking Process

1.1. Booking Options
1.1.1. Bookings can be made online, via phone, or in person.
1.1.2. A $1 deposit is required upon booking to secure your move date and requested services.


1.2. Deposit Payment and Deadlines
1.2.1. You have 24 hours to pay the deposit after receiving your confirmation.
1.2.2. If the deposit is not paid within 24 hours:
DC MOVING INC reserves the right to adjust the original price for requested services.
Availability for your move date is not guaranteed.


1.3. Deposit Policy for Long-Distance or Flat Rate Moves
1.3.1. A $300 deposit is required for long-distance or flat-rate moves to secure your booking.
1.3.2. Deposits must be made electronically via:
Secure payment link provided.
Over-the-phone transactions.
1.3.3. Accepted payment methods include all major credit/debit cards:
MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, etc.


1.4. Refund Policy
1.4.1. Deposits are fully refundable if a written cancellation request is submitted via email at least 2 business days prior to the move date.
1.4.2. Refunds may take up to 5 business days to process.


1.5. Confirmation
1.5.1. A confirmation email or receipt will be provided once the booking is finalized.

2. Estimates

2.1. General Estimate Guidelines
2.1.1. Estimates are based on customer-provided information and may change if the actualservices required differ.
2.1.2. To ensure accuracy, customers must submit a detailed list of items to be moved, including:
• Furniture pieces (e.g., beds, dressers, tables, chairs).
• Number and size of boxes.
• Specialty items (e.g., pianos, safes, antiques).
• Other large items (e.g., appliances, outdoor furniture).
2.1.3. Customers must also provide property details, including:
• Type of residence (e.g., house, apartment, condo).
• Number of floors/levels.
• Presence of stairs or elevators.
• Distance between the parking area and entrance or loading dock/elevator.


2.2. Importance of Accurate Information
2.2.1. Accurate details determine:
• Truck size.
• Number of movers required.
• Overall costs.
2.2.2. Inaccurate or incomplete information may lead to delays or additional charges.


2.3. Hourly Moving Service Estimates
2.3.1. DC MOVING INC requires:
A minimum of 2 hours labor for moving services.
A minimum of 1-hour travel time.
2.3.2. Additional time is billed in hourly or 15-minute increments based on the agreed hourly rate in the binding quote.
2.3.3. Hourly services begin when the moving crew arrives and starts the moving process.
2.3.4. Travel Time:
Refers to time spent traveling between:
Dispatch location and pickup address.
Drop-off address and return to dispatch location.
Charged to fairly compensate for time and fuel costs.
2.3.5. Hourly services cannot be booked unless minimum hourly requirements are met.


2.4. Long-Distance Moving Estimates
2.4.1. Estimates for long-distance moves are based on:
Detailed Inventory:
Customers must provide an accurate and comprehensive list of all items to be moved, including specialty or oversized items (e.g., pianos, antiques).
Distance to Destination:
Total mileage between pickup and drop-off locations.
2.4.2. Importance of Accuracy:
Ensures the right truck size, crew, and cost calculations.
2.4.3. Updates to the inventory or destination must be submitted at least 3 business days before the move date.
2.4.4. Discrepancies between provided and actual inventory may result in:
Delays.
Additional charges for extra items, labor, or unforeseen circumstances.
2.4.5. Final charges include fees for any unexpected additions or adjustments during themove.


3. Payment

3.1. Deposit Requirements
3.1.1. A deposit is required at the time of booking.
3.1.2. For long-distance and flat-rate moves, a minimum deposit of $300 is required.


3.2. Balance Payment
3.2.1. The remaining balance must be paid upon completion of services, unless prior
arrangements have been made.
3.2.2. Final Cost Determination:
The foreman will calculate the total labor cost based on actual time worked and services provided.
The customer will be informed of the final cost upon job completion.
3.2.3. The balance must be paid before signing the final agreement.
3.2.4. DC MOVING INC’s crew cannot leave the premises until the payment is made in full.


3.3. Accepted Payment Methods
3.3.1. Payment options include:
• Cash.
• Venmo.
• Zelle.
• All major credit and debit cards (e.g., Visa).


3.4. Invoice Requests
3.4.1. Customers may request a detailed invoice that includes:
• Labor charges.
• Materials used.
• Any additional fees.


3.5. Non-Payment Policy
3.5.1. In cases of non-payment:
DC MOVING INC reserves the right to retain items as collateral.
A third-party debt collection agency may be involved.
This may affect the customer’s credit score.


4. Cancellation or Rescheduling Policy
4.1. Cancellation or Rescheduling Before 48 Hours
4.1.1. Customers may cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before the scheduled move datewithout any fees.
4.1.2. The deposit will be fully refunded in these cases.


4.2. Cancellation or Rescheduling Within 48 Hours
4.2.1. Cancellations or rescheduling made less than 48 hours before the scheduled move datewill incur a fee.
4.2.2. The fee is equivalent to 2 hours of the hourly tariff rate and covers the time and resources allocated to the booking.


4.3. How to Cancel or Reschedule
4.3.1. Customers must notify DC MOVING INC via:
•Phone.
• Email.
4.3.2. The request is only valid once confirmed by DC MOVING INC.


4.4. Important Notes
4.4.1. Failure to notify DC MOVING INC of a cancellation or rescheduling will result in forfeiture of the full deposit.

5. Included Services

5.1. Furniture Protection
5.1.1. Blankets and tape are provided to secure furniture during the move.

5.2. Moving Equipment
5.2.1. Necessary equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, and standard tools are included for the duration of the move.

5.3. Disassembly & Assembly
5.3.1. Standard items like beds, dining tables, chairs, and recliners can be disassembled and reassembled as needed.

5.4. Transportation Costs
5.4.1. Fuel, mileage, and toll charges are included in the quoted cost.

6. Additional Charges

6.1. Waiting Time
6.1.1. Additional charges may apply if delays are caused by:
• The customer.
• Building management.


6.2. Stair Fees
6.2.1. A stair fee will be charged if flights of stairs are involved.
6.2.2. If undisclosed additional stairs are discovered at the destination, the stair fee will be adjusted accordingly.


6.3. Oversized/Heavy Items
6.3.1. Additional fees may apply for items weighing over 200 lbs or requiring special handling.
• Examples include:
• Pianos.
• Pool tables.
• Exercise equipment.
• Large appliances.


7. Customer Responsibilities

7.1. Presence During the Move
7.1.1. The customer or their legal representative (with a valid power of attorney providedbeforehand) must be present at all times during the move.
7.1.2. DC MOVING INC is not responsible for claims if the customer or their representative isabsent.


7.2. Prohibited Items
7.2.1. The following items cannot be moved or packed:
Hazardous Materials: Scuba gear, nail polish/remover, oil, gas, grill supplies, fireworks, firearms,
ammunition, aerosols, pesticides, motor oil, batteries, acids, fertilizers, etc.
Perishables & Plants:
Live plants for long-distance moves (250+ miles) or storage.
Other Prohibited Items: Pets, liquor, paints, large appliances with hazardous contents.
7.2.2. Customers must ensure these items are excluded. DC MOVING INC reserves the rightto refuse their transportation.


7.3. Furniture and Appliance Responsibilities
7.3.1. Preparation:
Furniture (e.g., dressers) must be emptied unless packing services are selected.
7.3.2. Perishables:
Fridges/freezers must be emptied and packed per food safety guidelines.
DC MOVING INC is not responsible for food safety issues.


7.4. Electronics
7.4.1. All electronic devices must be unplugged before the move.
7.4.2. DC MOVING INC does not handle installation/unplugging of electronics.
7.4.3. Televisions/Monitors:
Customers must provide power cables for testing. DC MOVING INC is not liable for damages caused by missing cables.


7.5. Packing Responsibilities
7.5.1. Customer-Packed Boxes:
Boxes must be sturdy and not exceed 35 lbs. DC MOVING INC is not liable for damages caused by improper packing.
7.5.2. Fragile Items:
Customer-packed fragile items (e.g., glass, porcelain) will be handled with care but are not covered for breakage. Professional packing services are available.
7.5.3. Food Safety
:DC MOVING INC is not liable for issues related to customer-packed food.


7.6. Pets and Plants
7.6.1. Pets:
DC MOVING INC does not transport pets.
7.6.2. Plants:
House plants (max height: 6.5 ft) can be moved locally if disclosed during booking.


7.7. Waterbeds and Aquariums
7.7.1. Waterbeds: Transported only if inspected by the customer before crew departure.
7.7.2. Aquariums: Must be emptied of water and creatures.


7.8. Heavy Items and Appliances
7.8.1. Items over 200 lbs (e.g., pianos, large appliances) will be moved if deemed safe bythe moving foreman.

7.9. Bill of Lading & TV Condition Sign-Off
7.9.1. Customers must sign the Bill of Lading at pickup and delivery.
7.9.2. Televisions must be tested, and their condition signed off at both locations.


7.10. Roommates & Multiple Locations
7.10.1. For items going to separate locations, the customer must:
Divide inventory.
Inform DC MOVING INC.
7.10.2. DC MOVING INC is not liable for claims of missing or incorrectly delivered items.


7.11. Furniture Arrangement
7.11.1. Standard service includes one setup per item at the destination. Rearranging is notincluded.

7.12. Hoisting Services
7.12.1. DC MOVING INC does not provide hoisting services through windows, balconies, orunconventional methods.

7.13. Security
7.13.1. Customers must secure doors, windows, and gates unless a contactless move isexplicitly arranged.

7.14. Disassembly Services
7.14.1. Simple disassembly (up to 12 screws) is included.
7.14.2. Extensive disassembly may be refused.


7.15. Accessibility
7.15.1. Customers must ensure clear access to loading and unloading areas.
7.15.2. Delays caused by lack of access may result in additional charges.


8. TVs and Electronics Policy

8.1. Appliances and Electronic Devices
8.1.1. Internal Components:
DC MOVING INC is not liable for the internal components of appliances or electronic devices. Tilting or positioning during transit may dislodge loose components. Vibrations during transport may affect components that were already loose.
8.1.2. No Warranty:
DC MOVING INC does not provide a warranty for the internal components of any appliance or electronic device.


8.2. TVs
8.2.1. Pre-Move TV Inspection Customers must turn on their TV before packing it into a TV box. The TV’s working condition must be acknowledged on the signed Bill of Lading at both pickup and drop-off locations.
8.2.2. Liability Conditions Non-Working TV at Pickup:
DC MOVING INC is not responsible for damages or claims if the TV does not work at pickup. No Visible External Damage:
If the TV works at pickup but does not work at drop-off without visible external damage, DCMOVING INC will not be held responsible.
External Damage:
DC MOVING INC will process claims for damages if the TV shows external damage at drop-off and was functional at pickup.
8.2.3. Customer-Packed TVs DC MOVING INC is not liable for damages to TVs packed by the customer in their own box before the crew arrives.


8.3. TV Wall Dismounting
8.3.1. Services Free Dismounting:
One wall-mounted TV dismount is included if agreed upon during booking.
Additional TVs: A $50 fee applies for each additional TV dismounted. Unlisted TVs: A $50 fee applies per TV if not listed in the inventory but requires unmounting.
8.3.2. Liability DC MOVING INC is not responsible for:
Wall damage from the previous mounting.
Damage is caused during unmounting, even if performed correctly.
Damage from improperly or tightly mounted TVs.
Customers must assess and accept risks associated with TV unmounting.
8.3.3. No Mounting ServicesDC MOVING INC does not provide TV wall mounting or any other wall mounting services.


8.4. Appliance Disconnecting and Assembly
8.4.1. DC MOVING INC does not disconnect or assemble appliances unless prearranged duringbooking.
8.4.2. Appliances requiring disassembly to fit through doors will not be managed without prioragreement.


9. Packing and Unpacking Policy

9.1. Ownership of Moving Materials
9.1.1. Materials owned by DC MOVING INC (e.g., blankets, TV boxes, wardrobe boxes, andpicture boxes) will be retrieved at the drop-off location.
9.1.2. Materials purchased by the customer (e.g., boxes, packing paper, tape) remain theproperty of the customer.


9.2. Proper Packaging of Fragile Items
9.2.1. Fragile items, such as glassware, lamps, mirrors, marble, TVs, and artwork, must bepacked in proper containers.
9.2.2. DC MOVING INC will not honor damage claims for fragile items unless packed or crated as recommended.
9.2.3. Customers are responsible for ensuring that fragile items are adequately packed before transport.


9.3. Full Packing and Unpacking Services
9.3.1. Packing Services Full packing services are available upon request for an additional fee. Last-minute requests for packing services may not be accommodated.
Packing supplies, including boxes, packing paper, and tape, are included in the service fee if requested at booking.
Bubble wrap will be provided only if specifically requested during booking.
9.3.2. Packing Procedures Items are packed by room and type, with each box labeled accordingly.
Detailed inventories of box contents are not provided.
Drawer contents will not be split across multiple boxes.
Customers must organize their belongings before the packing process begins.
9.3.3. Additional Packing Needs If additional boxes are required beyond the agreed-upon number, the customer will be charged for extra packing services.


9.4. Unpacking Services
9.4.1. If unpacking services are requested:
DC MOVING INC will unpack boxes and dispose of used packing materials. Items will be unpacked in customer-designated locations.
9.4.2. Exclusions:
Organization or arrangement of items (e.g., designer groupings) is not included. Kitchen and china items will be unpacked safely but not organized into matching sets.


10. Moving Supplies Policy

10.1. Availability of Moving Supplies
10.1.1. DC MOVING INC offers pre-designed moving supply bundles tailored to various homesizes and customer needs.
10.1.2. Individual supplies, such as boxes, packing paper, and tape, are only sold as add-ons to apreviously purchased bundle.


10.2. Purchasing Moving Supplies
10.2.1. Moving supplies can be purchased:
During the booking process.
In advance of the move day.
10.2.2. A minimum of 3 business days’ notice is required for supplies to be delivered before the move.


10.3. Refund and Return Policy
10.3.1. DC MOVING INC does not provide refunds or accept returns for moving supplies, regardless of whether they are used or unused.

11. Insurance and Valuation Coverage for Customer Belongings

11.1. Basic Coverage
11.1.1. DC MOVING INC provides BASIC coverage of $0.60 per pound per article, as mandatedby the Department of Transportation (DOT).

11.2. Additional Coverage
11.2.1. Customers may purchase optional Declared Value Protection throughmovinginsurance.com.
11.2.2. This additional coverage must be purchased at least 48 hours prior to the move. Coverage cannot be added on the day of or after the move.


11.3. Customer Responsibility
11.3.1. Customers are responsible for purchasing additional insurance, particularly for highvalue items.
11.3.2. Without additional insurance, DC MOVING INC’s liability is limited to $0.60 per poundper item for loss or damage.


11.4. Packing Requirements for Insurance
11.4.1. If third-party insurance is purchased, additional fees may apply to ensure packing supplies meet necessary standards.
11.4.2. A minimum of 3 business days is required to create wooden crates or bespoke packing containers for valuable items.


11.5. Damaged Items on Pickup
11.5.1. DC MOVING INC is not liable for damage claims on items already broken or damaged atthe time of pickup.
11.5.2. Damaged items will be photographed and documented on the Bill of Lading at bothpickup and delivery.
11.5.3. Customers must sign to acknowledge pre-existing damage.
11.5.4. Refusal to sign may result in service cancellation and a full refund.


11.6. Furniture Sets
11.6.1. For a damaged or lost item in a furniture set, compensation is calculated only for the specific item, not for the entire set, in compliance with DOT regulations.

11.7. Double Filing Insurance Claims
11.7.1. Filing a claim for the same item through both DC MOVING INC and a third-party insurer(“double dipping”) is a felony punishable by law.
11.7.2. In cases of duplicate claims, DC MOVING INC will:
Provide evidence of double dipping to the third-party insurer.
Request the insurer to close the claim.
11.7.3. Customers must cancel one of the claims before compensation is issued to avoid legal consequences.


12. Claims and Refunds Policy

12.1. Claims Process
12.1.1. Filing a Claim:
Claims must be submitted using the DC MOVING INC claims submission form. Include images and relevant documentation to support your claim.
12.1.2. Timeframe:
Claims must be filed within 48 hours from the date of your move or delivery.
For lost shipments, the 48-hour timeframe begins from the date the shipment was scheduled to be delivered.
Claims submitted after 48 hours will not be accepted, and DC MOVING INC will not be held liable.


12.2. Claim Handling and Resolution
12.2.1. Submission Requirements:
All claims must be submitted in writing to DC MOVING INC.
12.2.2. Acknowledgment of Claim:
DC MOVING INC will acknowledge receipt of your claim within 30 days of submission.
12.2.3. Resolution Timeframe:
DC MOVING INC will resolve claims within 120 days of submission. If additional time is needed, the company is entitled to 60-day extensions for processing or resolution. For claims filed before the completion of delivery or services, refunds or compensation will only be issued after goods have been delivered and/or services have been marked complete.


13. Furniture & Mattress Disposal Policy

13.1. Furniture Disposal Service
13.1.1. Service Availability:
Furniture disposal is available upon request for an additional fee.
13.1.2. Advance Request:
Disposal services must be requested at the time of booking.
13.1.3. Additional Fees:
Fees include costs for mileage, labor, extra stops, and any charges imposed by the disposal
center.


13.2. Mattress Disposal
13.2.1. Protective Covers:
DC MOVING INC provides plastic covers for mattresses designated for disposal.


13.3. Curbside Disposal
13.3.1. Service Details:
DC MOVING INC can arrange to leave items on the curb in compliance with the city’s curbside pickup schedule.
13.3.2. Responsibility for Fines:
Customers are responsible for any fines or penalties resulting from improper curbside disposal.
13.3.3. Advance Notice Required:
Curbside disposal services must be requested in advance at the time of booking.
Note: DC MOVING INC will not perform curbside disposal on the move day if not pre-arranged.


13.4. Miscellaneous Item Disposal
13.4.1. Pre-packed Items:
If customers pack items in a box labeled “For disposal,” DC MOVING INC will handle the disposal of those items.
13.4.2. Additional Items on Move Day:
Requests to dispose of extra items on the move day will incur additional disposal fees.
13.4.3. Exclusions:
General disposal services for miscellaneous unpacked items are not provided during the move or unpacking process.


14. Storage Services Policy

14.1. Warehouse Storage
14.1.1. Secure Facilities:
Items are wrapped at the pickup location, transported to a private, secure storage facility, and placed on pallets for additional wrapping and organization.
Facilities are equipped with 24-hour video surveillance for enhanced protection.
14.1.2. Restricted Access:
Customers are not permitted to visit the storage facility.


14.2. Storage Fees and Adjustments
14.2.1. Monthly Fees:
Fees are calculated per cubic foot plus tax, based on the size of the shipment.
Rates are fixed at the time of booking and signing the storage agreement.
14.2.2. Fee Adjustments:
Monthly storage fees may be adjusted if:
Partial move-outs or move-ins occur.
Additional items are added to storage.
Other unforeseen circumstances arise.


14.3. Move-Out Notice and Pickup Policies
14.3.1. Scheduling Move-Outs:
Customers must provide at least 3 business days’ notice.
Self-move-outs incur a fee equivalent to one full month’s storage.
14.3.2. Third-Party Carrier Pickup:
Customers may authorize a third-party carrier for pickup, incurring a fee equivalent to one full month’s storage.


14.4. In-Transit and Emergency Storage
14.4.1. Short-Term Storage:
Items are stored for up to 14 days under In-Transit Storage Services.
After 14 days, items transition to standard storage, billed accordingly.


14.5. Non-Payment and Auction
14.5.1. Unpaid Storage:
Items may be auctioned or disposed of after 3 consecutive months of non-payment to cover unpaid balances.
DC MOVING INC is not liable for damages or claims in such cases.


14.6. Item Restrictions
14.6.1. Self-Packed Items:
DC MOVING INC is not responsible for damages to self-packed items.
14.6.2. Prohibited Items:
Prohibited items include perishable goods, plants, weapons, dangerous chemicals, or illegal substances.
Plants found in storage will be disposed of without compensation.
Customers are liable for damages caused by prohibited items, such as pest infestations.


14.7. Shared and Individual Storage Responsibility
14.7.1. Payment Liability:
The signer of the storage agreement is responsible for all payments, even if storing items for others. If items are shared, each person must sign a new contract and pay their portion before item scan be removed or split.
14.7.2. Storage Facility Visits:
DC MOVING INC does not allow customer visits or provide individual storage units.


14.8. Liability Disclaimer
14.8.1. Third-Party Moves:
DC MOVING INC is not liable for damages caused during third-party carrier pickups or customer self-moves.
14.8.2. Environmental Factors:
Items may develop musty odors due to environmental conditions (e.g., moisture). DC MOVINGINC is not liable for such issues.


14.9. Storage Location Flexibility
14.9.1. Facility Transfers:
Items may be stored at any of DC MOVING INC’s facilities, regardless of the initial stated address. All storage conditions and security measures remain consistent across locations.


15. Customer Privacy Policy

DC MOVING INC is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy governs data collection and usage across all DC Moving Inc services, websites, third-party lead platforms, emails, phone calls, and physical service activities.

15.1. Collection of Personal Information
15.1.1. Data Collected:
Personal information collected may include your:
Email address, Name, Home or work address, Telephone number, Bank account details Credit/Visa card information.
15.1.2. Purpose of Collection:
The information is used for billing and delivering the services requested. No information about your computer hardware or software is collected.


15.2. Use of Personal Information
15.2.1. Service Provision and Communication:
Personal information is used to:
Process service orders and deliver requested services. Inform you of other products or services available from DC Moving Inc or its affiliates. Send marketing communications or surveys to gather feedback on services.
15.2.2. External Business Partner Contact:
DC Moving Inc may contact you on behalf of external business partners regarding offerings of interest.
Your personal information is not transferred to these third parties.
15.2.3. Third-Party Services:
DC Moving Inc may hire other companies to provide limited services on its behalf (e.g.,
customer support, international moves, transaction processing). Only the necessary information will be shared with these companies.
15.2.4. Sensitive Information:
DC Moving Inc does not collect, use, or disclose sensitive information (e.g., race, religion,
political affiliations) without explicit consent.
15.2.5. Legal Compliance and Safety:
Personal information may be accessed or disclosed to:
Comply with legal processes.
Protect DC Moving Inc’s rights or property. Ensure the safety of users or the public in exigent circumstances.
15.2.6. International Data Processing:
Personal information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where DC Moving Inc operates. By using DC Moving Inc services, you consent to such transfers.


15.3. Purposes for Collection, Use, and Disclosure
15.3.1. Primary Purposes:
General business operations, including providing products and services. Responding to inquiries or complaints. Conducting business processes with related entities, contractors, or third parties.
Keeping records up to date. Complying with legal or regulatory requirements.
15.3.2. Additional Purposes:
Improving website functionality and user experience. Ancillary purposes related to the above activities.


15.4. Security of  Personal Information
15.4.1. Data Protection Measures:
DC Moving Inc employs advanced security technologies to protect against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Personal information is stored on secure computer systems with restricted access. Credit card and billing data are encrypted and securely stored in trusted third-party systems(e.g., First Data Bank, QuickBooks).


16. Disclaimer of Warranties: Limitation of Liability

16.1. General Disclaimer of Warranties
16.1.1. Service Performance:
DC MOVING INC does not guarantee that services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or errorfree. Results obtained from using the service are not warranted to be accurate or reliable.
16.1.2. External Factors:
DC MOVING INC is not liable for delays caused by:
Road traffic conditions.
Building time restrictions.
16.1.3. Service Modifications or Cancellations:
Services may be removed for indefinite periods or canceled at any time without prior notice.


16.2. Use of Service
16.2.1. “As-Is” and “As-Available” Basis:
Services and all associated products are provided “as is” and “as available” without any representations, warranties, or conditions, either express or implied.
This includes implied warranties of:
Merchantability Fitness for a particular purpose Durability Title Non-infringement
16.2.2. Customer Risk:
Your use of the service, or inability to use it, is entirely at your own risk.


16.3. Limitation of Liability
16.3.1. Excluded Liabilities:
DC MOVING INC and its affiliates, employees, contractors, and agents are not liable for:
Injuries, losses, or claims. Direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages. Lost profits, revenue, savings, data, or replacement costs.
16.3.2. Claims Related to Use:
Liability does not extend to claims resulting from:
Errors or omissions in content. Loss or damage from using services, products, or content. Any other issues arising from the use of services or products procured through DC MOVING INC.


16.4. Jurisdictional Limitations
16.4.1. Limitation Adjustments:
